Review of Seeing Ezra: A Mother's Story of Autism, Unconditional Love and the Meaning of Normal

When receiving the chance to read this memoir I was incredibly excited but now upon completing it i feel also privileged. This story of a mothers love and intelligent pursuit of knowledge and whats best for her children is an inspiring tale which I would recommend to readers of all ages for it gives some insight to the way simple actions, regardless of the intent, can affect the people around you. As a future nurse this loving story of a family's struggle will definitely help me make better choices in my life when it comes to patients and their guardians. Thank you for having the courage to put this beautiful tale of trust, love, selflessness and the unknown in writing for the world to contemplate. From the first page I could not put this wonderful story down.

Reveiw of Kefayah by A.H. Metwally

This book was written with great purpose, to educate the general public of the United States of America about the people who run this great country. The first hand accounts and comparisons included with the direct quotes definitely add to the authors education on the matters described in this book. One can learn much from Mr. A. H. Metwally.
Before reading KEFAYAH I knew that there were some big problems with the ways the government runs this country. We are supposed to be United and Strong not just in military force but in education, healthcare, peace and caring. As Americans we should show each other respect regardless of race, sex, or religion because these things do not matter. KEFAYAH showed me some more specific instances and examples of the government not adhering to its great constitution. It opened my mind to issues which I was previously unaware of. Metwally is right, there is a serious problem with communication in this country that no one is addressing and could easily be fixed if more people were aware of it or cared about the  issue. I agree with Metwally that we as Americans should not be afraid to be proud of our country and change it for the better. With hard work and determination we as a united people could build ourselves up to the true point of excellence we already see ourselves at in our minds. Together we SHOULD stand.
As far as the actual writing and editing of the book though there were some difficulties for me. Throughout this book there are several grammatical errors which had me rereading sentences and paragraphs causing me to put the book down and the read through to take longer than it would have if a solid read through could have been achieved. The only other thing I kept getting frustrated with is the extensive use of the word WOW throughout the book. The emotions presented to the reader by this word should be achieved through the strength of the statements used rather being demanded from the reader.

New life in a bleak time

In a dim present the knowledge of an ever-growing ever-changing presence of life makes visions of the future a lot clearer and more beautiful. From the birth of a baby to the birth of a puppy there comes a sense of enduring hope and clarity that the world is not the nasty disturbed thing it often appears to be. When something so innocent and loving looks up at there new mommy for the first time knowing who they are automatically or a little one knows the same instinctively one can't deny that this world we have created for ourselves is not all that bad. This is a concept I try to hold onto for all of my days to keep my outlook as bright as can be.

Pregnancy

"They" never tell you that by the time you get to the fun part of pregnancy, when you start to feel your little soccer player moving around in there, most mommy's-to-be are ready to be done with it. Between the irritable daddy's, on-edge mommy's, the constant lack of sleep with no help from coffee, and more than occasional back pain it is hard to love the process of pregnancy. If it weren't for the light at the end of this tunnel there would be a lot more negativity in this almost completely one-sided side effect of the funnest mortal game there is. I find the only annoyance is not being able to be a strong woman during these fragile times. I pride myself in not having to play the weak card and am on a daily basis having to be forcibly humbled. I am more excited about the birth of my first child than I have ever been about anything else in my life but am ready to feel like my own strong woman again. Come on baby be nice to mommy.
